WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item level upgrade, read more, level by 3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with the help of button, which will show an image of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to that same Best item upgrader level will cost less, even when they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific Best item upgrader level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities, or by taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item upgrade such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
