WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrader kit by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item upgrading will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item upgrader mod will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item level upgrade is upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting a new recipe. Crests

This is to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
