What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob

You can control the music via your smartphone so you don't have to leave your car.

Intelligent Key Fob have a built-in antenna which transmits signals when you come close to your vehicle or press one of its buttons. When your vehicle is aware of this signal, it will activate the system, opening or locking doors, starting the engine, as well as opening the trunk. If you'd like to test out the fob, stand at a distance away from your vehicle and press the buttons. Nissan remote start is a feature that permits drivers to heat or cool their vehicle from outside of the vehicle, as long as they are within the operating range. The ignition of the vehicle can be activated by pressing an appropriate button on key fobs or a smartphone application. Remote start systems can also activate climate control which allows the driver to set their preferred temperature. Lockout Protection

Lockout protection prevents nuisance lockouts caused by impedance relay failure. A special module in the power control unit is able to monitor for the activity of the impedance relay and then disables the output. This option is available on vehicles with the Smart Key system, or via the personalization menu.

Many serious accidents have occurred because a machine was started when it was supposed to be completely shut off to allow for maintenance or repair. These accidents are usually the result of stored energy that has not been properly released. Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) which makes sure that machines remain off until a designated individual releases them, helps prevent these types of accidents.

The LOTO system is comprised of a number of locks, tags and other devices to secure, isolate, or block a machine from electricity. All "affected" and "authorized" personnel must be trained in the use of these lockout/tag-out devices. These devices include, but are not only restricted to locks, chains and padlocks. Each device is identified and labeled with the date and the time of application and the name of the person who is authorized to use it, and the reason for the lockout/tag-out (repair maintenance, repair, etc.). It should be clear that these devices are not able to be removed until a full LOTO procedure has been completed.
