French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

French-door refrigerators blend functionality and form. They come with stylish double doors that reveal a large fridge on top and a freezer drawer below. Special features like through-the-door dispensers, high-end ice machines and flex drawers that can be customized make them stand out from the rest.

We consulted Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect and founder of LS Projects - for her tips on how to select the right home. They weighed the capacity of storage and layout, energy efficiency, and other aspects.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

As its name suggests, the GE Profile series is targeted at those who wish to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchens. This fridge is loaded with these, from an inside-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a smart water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Given that this fridge costs more, I'd expect higher quality.

This fridge is a great choice, despite the small blip. It has a huge freezer compartment which is uncommon for counter-depth French-door fridges. It also has a large capacity for frozen food items compared to other models.

Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is standard for a fridge with a French door at this price. It also has a decent-sized icemaker packed into the left-hand door, although it's not the biggest I've seen.

You can adjust the shelving in both compartments to create a customized storage layout for what you want to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. Its LED lighting is a nice feature and the inside storage bins come with an additional shelf that folds down to allow you to store items that are tall. The drawers come with temperature controls so you can set them to Beverage, Meat, or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to shut and open, but I found the plastic's textured coatings a bit hard on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a full suite of features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere in the globe. It also comes with many options for customization. It also sends you notifications when doors are left open, when your fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be great it GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is a feature found in a few GE refrigerators that allow users to choose the number of cups they would like to pour out. The fridge displays a countdown timer to reveal how much water remains but it's not as effective as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It is designed to look as a seamless element of your kitchen Bosch's French door refrigerator is one of a kind. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment which keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer and two compressors for preserving food items. The ice maker we tested was one of the most efficient and makes pyramid shaped ice using minimal water. This refrigerator is ideal for a single family or a kitchenette with an elegant design and top of the highest quality food preservation.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for a few reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained constant at just above 0°F and never fluctuated more than a tiny fraction - this is essential to avoid freezer burn. The fridge's fridge section also performed well, reaching the desired temperature for initial set within an hour and keeping that temperature steady throughout the course of our tests.

Bosch is a household name for its top-quality appliances. Therefore, it's not a surprise that Bosch's counter depth fridge Bosch counter depth refrigerator can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's Home Connect. The app lets you monitor and control your fridge remotely from your tablet or smartphone. The fridge is expensive, but it comes with excellent features and functionality for the cost.

While the fridge is an incredible piece of equipment but it's important to be aware of the limitations. It has a limited space for shelves, so you may require some creativity when it comes to storing large items. Additionally, the shelves are not sprillproof and can be easily stained or damaged by sharp objects. The trays are easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they must be cleaned regularly to prevent the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth integrated french style fridge freezer Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth refrigerator is a great choice for those who need a lot of space in the space of a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge is built with the standard French door design, and two rows of shelves that can you put a french press in the fridge be used to capture spills and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded down to make space for taller items. You'll also find a full-width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator has a freezer with an ice maker making it easy to move the frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, as well, such as sliding drawers that can help you better organize the placement of your items. It also has a large bin that holds plenty of frozen food and an additional storage bin for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your fridge using your smartphone. It's a simple way to monitor your refrigerator and control it, particularly when you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't improve the efficiency of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge as compared to other fridges we test. This is likely due to the greater capacity.

The doors are a different issue with this refrigerator. The handles that are sunken let shorter people open them from the bottom. However taller people have a hard time closing them without slamming. It would have been more effective if they had handles mounted on the front.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a good option for those looking to combine the benefits of a french door fridge organization-door fridge's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also a little cheaper than the best counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which can make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a great choice if you want a French-door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It has a simple design that's not as striking in appearance like some of the competitors but it does have enough features to make it a good choice. Its most important characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer, which helps keep foods such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser and a decent ice maker that operates quickly.

Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer allows you to redirect some of the refrigerator's cooling power to the area so that you can keep food items that require special attention. You can adjust the feature using an adjustable slider that is located just in the middle of the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.

During my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent across different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ much from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance, but it doesn't quite be among the top in our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer to get more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of stainless steel with a grey-bodied body which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of removing streaks and fingerprints even when compared with glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
